Check the dirt cup release handle to make sure it is completely locked into place. If not, locked into place, the dirt cup may not seal to the upper tank properly and suction may be reduced. Check the rear of the dirt cup to make sure it is completely locked into the dirt cup tabs. Check the top of the dirt cup to make sure it is completely sealed to the upper tank. Make sure to check all filters: The inner and outer circular filters, the post motor filter, and the primary separator in the upper tank. All the filters can be hand washed in warm tap water and mild detergent. Dry completely before reusing. (For model 3130 only: Check for good suction at the end of the upholstery hose. If there is good suction at the end of the hose make sure the hose is firmly connected to the lower-hose on the back of the machine.) (For 3130 model only: If there is no suction at the hose check for suction at the back of the machine after removing the hose where it attaches in the back of the machine. If there is suction, check the upholstery hose for any damage or clogs in the hose. If there is not suction at the back of the machine, check for suction at the pre-motor (do not remove filter) filter.) Check to see if the brush is turning. Make sure the lower hose is not clogged.
