1. Make sure the dirt cup is empty and attached correctly. If there are any gaps between the dirt cup and the foot of the unit, the vacuum will lose suction.
2. Remove the dirt cup and check for suction at the motor duct (pictured below). If there is suction at the motor duct, go on to the next step. If there’s no suction here, please take your vacuum to a technician. 3. Make sure both filters are clean. The foam filter can be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent but must be completely dry before you put it back into the machine. The white pleated filter can be tapped out into the trash, but must be replaced if it’s too dirty—it’s not washable. 6. The dirt container can snap onto the unit without the bottom attaching (pictured below). Make sure both the bottom and top of the dirt container attach to the vacuum.

7. Make sure the hose or attachment isn’t clogged. Remove the attachment and check for any debris. Use a q-tip or finger to clear any clogs in the attachments. You can use a broomstick to clear clogs in the hose.
8. If there’s still no suction, please take your vacuum to a technician. You can find your nearest BISSELL® Authorized Service Center by clicking http://canada.bissell.com/support/product-support/service-centers or by calling 1-800-263-2535, available 24 hours a day.
