1. First, check the red lint screen in the dirty water tank for debris, which can make the motor overheat and thereby “trip” a breaker.
2. If your power cord is damaged in any way, this could trip the breaker. If it’s damaged, please have a quality technician inspect your unit. 3. If you’re using an extension cord, try removing the extension cord and using another outlet.
4. Next, check the amp limit of your circuit breakers. If you’re using a 12 amp machine and the circuit breakers are 10 amps, the circuits may be overloaded if you’re using additional appliances. The circuit may keep “tripping” if additional appliances are plugged into the same circuit. If nothing else is plugged into the circuit, there’s a good chance it won’t “trip.”
5. According to the BISSELL Manager of Compliance, most homes contain 15-20 amp circuit breakers. If you continue having problems with a machine and the amperage of your circuit breakers is the standard 15-20 amp service rating, you’ll need to take your cleaner to an authorized service center to have a certified technician inspect your unit.
