My CleanAlong® has no power? What should I check?

Answer:

No Power to the Machine:

1. Unplug the vacuum and check the entire length of the power cord and the plug to see if it’s damaged.  Run the palm of your hand down the entire length of the cord and feel for any edges.  The cord should be smooth all the way down.  If the cord is damaged, please take your vacuum to a technician. You can find your nearest BISSELL® Authorized Service Center by clicking http://canada.bissell.com/support/product-support/service-centers or by calling 1-800-263-2535, available 24 hours a day.

2. Make sure cord is plugged in to a working outlet. Try another appliance in the outlet or try a different outlet just to double check.

3. See if the hose power cord is attached.  If the hose power cord isn’t attached to the base of the machine, the power won’t turn on.

4. If you still have no power, at this point you should take your vacuum to an Authorized Service Center. See the above link to find one near you.

No Power to the Powerhead:

1. Make sure the brush motor is turned on at the hose grip.

2. Check that the handle is reclined.  If it’s locked in the upright position, the brush motor is automatically shut off.

3. Look if the extension wand power cord is firmly plugged in at the hose grip and at the powerhead.  Check the extension wand power cord for damage.  If it’s damaged, or if there’s still no power to the powerhead, please take your vacuum to a technician. You can find your nearest BISSELL® Authorized Service Center by clicking http://canada.bissell.com/support/product-support/service-centers or by calling 1-800-263-2535, available 24 hours a day.
