-Check to make sure the diverter knob is not set to Tools/Pretreat. The flow indicator will not spin when the trigger on the upholstery hose is engaged. -Check the filter to make sure it is installed correctly. The point on the white filter should face upward, and the red "x" rests on top of this. -Make sure the filter is clean. If not, soak in hot water for 30 minutes. -Check o-ring for proper placement. When you remove the clear cap, the o-ring should be around the black threading on the base of the machine where the cap would attach. -Check the flow indicator cap for cracks. Replace if needed. -Make sure flow indicator cap is screwed down tightly. Turn the machine on, depress the trigger on the upper handle and then tighten the flow cap. This will increase the seal in the cap. If these suggestions do not correct the problem, please contact your nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Center for additional assistance.
