Articles and Advice from our Pet Expert

What breed of dog is easiest to train?

All dogs are trainable! Sure, some are easier than others, but that can be a debatable topic, especially among breed enthusiasts.

Before choosing a dog based upon trainability, consider your lifestyle, the size of your home and family, your physical ability and the amount of time you have available to spend with them. Size, coat type, activity level and temperament are the most important things to consider when seeking the right dog for your family.

If you’re looking for a dog that will perform agility or a “job” such as herding, hunting, protecting, or detecting, that’s when you look to breeds that are specifically bred for a those purposes.
