Top 3 Pet Accounts to follow on Facebook Twitter and Pinterest With 3 Fav Pet Viral Videos

For pet parents who are trying to keep up to date with the latest news from the pet world here’s a list of my Top 3 favorite pet accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

  • Because pets can't talk, PetMD's Facebook page is a great place to find pet health tips from the largest online resource for trusted pet health information.
  • Internationally-renowned dog trainer and star of the hit TV show, “It’s Me of the Dog,” Victoria Stilwell’s official Facebook page offers pointers on products and positive reinforcement dog training.
  • Follow pet loving celebrities and their pets on People Pets Facebook page for the latest scoops, cute photos and the latest news on dogs, cats and other amazing animals in the news.

  • If you are looking to adopt a pet or are just “browsing”, be sure to follow Petfinder for tweets about pets who are looking for homes, pet-related info and heart-warming adoption stories.
  • An avid traveler, I am often on the road and enjoy receiving tweets from DogTipper, which celebrates pet travel with Paris Permenter & John Bigley, pet pros and authors of 30 guidebooks.
  • As one of the most popular websites for the pet industry, be sure to follow PetsWeekly for tweets on pet product giveaways, pet parent advice, the latest pet news and the reviews on newest and most unusual pet products.

  • If you enjoy traveling with you pet, be sure to follow Fido Friendly for a fabulous photo gallery of pet friendly travel destinations.
  • Who knew that common houseplants and beautiful flowers could be so toxic to pets? A practical Pinterest account to follow is the ASPCA's toxic plant board.
  • Of course, my own Pinterest boards (Kristen Levine) are among my favorite! I celebrate pet adoption, products, hero dogs and I share pictures of my adventures in the pet industry.

And here are a few favorite pet videos that always bring a smile to my day.

  • With over 146 million views and counting, watch as the dog laments while his owner talks about food—maple bacon, steak and cat-treat covered chicken—in the “Ultimate Dog Tease”.
  • Who would have thought that a simple printer could provide hours of entertainment for cats and a hilarious compilation of YouTube favs in Cats vs Printers.
  • After a hard day of parental supervision, watch as Murkin the dog falls asleep with his kittens.

One more suggestion… follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Please comment and share your favorite social sites for pet parents!

Monthly Pet Tip:

While social networks are a great way to stay connected with others and keep up with the latest pet news and information, never rely on the Internet to diagnose or treat a pet’s medical condition. As fabulous and the web is, it’s no substitute for the advice of your highly trained, knowledgeable and compassionate family veterinarian.
