Make it like New, How to Remove Number 2 (and other pet messes)… like A Pro

How to Clean Up a Pet Mess

Pet poop (and other) stains on the carpet are definitely unsettling.  They are usually gross and guaranteed to be stinky. To an amateur, they can also be very intimidating.  Follow these steps to instantly become a stain-removing pro.

1. Scoop and clean up any solid waste using a plastic plate or something similar.

2. Gently blot up any remains with a white towel or paper towel, without stepping on the stain.

3. Spray the mess and surrounding area with stain remover.

a. It's important to select the right cleaner. Use an enzyme action cleaner for organic stains like urine and feces, while an oxygen action cleaner will work better for colored stains like vomit or blood.

4. Let the magic happen!

a. For lighter stains, let the cleaner sit for 5-10 minutes.
b. For touch stains, cover the cleaner and stain with a damp towel and let it sit for 24 hours or more.

5. Then blot with a damp white cloth and let dry. You may have to vacuum the carpet after to remove any residue. Then the stain should be gone!
